Chambers-Thermo Fisher Scientific Memorial Award

Established to honor the memory of AAI member Cynthia Chambers, Ph.D., this award is intended to advance the career of an early career scientist who attends the AAI annual meeting and presents an outstanding abstract specifically in the area of cancer biology. This award is generously supported by Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The award recipient will be recognized and presented with an award certificate during the AAI Business Meeting and Awards Presentation at IMMUNOLOGY2025™. A monetary award of $1,000 will be paid by ACH or wire transfer to the recipient following the AAI meeting. This award may not be combined with other awards or grants for the AAI annual meeting.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must meet all of these requirements:

  1. Be an AAI Regular member for 2025 with dues paid no later than November 19, 2024.
  2. Have received a doctoral degree within the past ten (10) years (no earlier than January 1, 2015).
  3. Hold an appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent.
  4. Have submitted a first-author abstract for presentation (oral or poster) at IMMUNOLOGY2025™ in the topic categories of Tumor Immunology: Cellular Responses and Tumor Microenvironment or Tumor Immunology: Checkpoints, Prevention, and Treatment by November 19, 2024.

Postdoctoral fellows, other trainees, and senior faculty (associate professor and above) are not eligible.

How to Qualify

Any AAI Regular member who submits a first-author abstract to IMMUNOLOGY2025™ in the topic category of Tumor Immunology automatically will be considered, provided that you meet all eligibility requirements above. Candidates may be asked to provide a curriculum vitae.
